Let's Learn Together

Hello! This is Jerry, creator of Cosmic Computing Academy. My goal with this platform is to help people learn about the cool computing technologies out there today. I was enthralled by cool tech demos that showed the power of automation, devops, and kubernetes leading to an awesome career in tech. I want to provide the same opportunity to you!

I have a decade of experience between various industries, including education, consulting, and supply chain. Over the years I’ve developed skills in networking, cloud computing, kubernetes, infrastructure as code, platform engineering, CI/CD, GitOps, and system administration. As a junior engineer, trial by fire was one of my favorite ways of learning new things. The learning was quick and the lessons really stuck.

When I started participating in the hiring, onboarding, and mentor processes for new team members a pattern began to emerge; traditional training didn’t translate into real capability. The most effective way to onboard new members was to make them practice the skills needed for their daily work.

Cosmic Computing Academy aims to help individuals build their skills and knowledge base by solving real problems. Being able to deploy a kubernetes cluster in AWS is great, but can you troubleshoot a failing pod, investigate misbehaving persistent volumes, or find resource hogs in the cluster? That’s the difference between knowing something and being skilled in it. This platform exists to close that gap.
